Statement of Faith
Stewards International Foundation, Inc. ("Stewards") is a Christian nonprofit organization
committed to biblical truth and the Lordship of Jesus Christ. We believe that faithful stewardship
of God's resources flows from sound theology. Therefore, we affirm the following essential
doctrines of the historic Christian faith:
THE GODHEAD
We believe in one eternal, infinite, and unchangeable God who exists in three distinct and co-equal Persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. These three are one
God, having precisely the same nature, attributes, and perfections, worthy of precisely the same
worship, confidence, and obedience.
Genesis 1:1; Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; John 1:1-3, 14; 2 Corinthians 13:14; 1 John 5:7
GOD THE FATHER
We believe in God the Father, an infinite, personal, and perfect Spirit, Creator of heaven and
earth. He concerns Himself mercifully and graciously in the affairs of humanity, hears and
answers prayer, and saves from sin and eternal death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ.
Genesis 1:1; Psalm 103:8-14; Matthew 6:9; John 3:16, 6:27; 1 Timothy 2:5-6
THE LORD JESUS CHRIST
We believe in Jesus Christ, God's only begotten Son, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of
the Virgin Mary. We believe in His sinless life, authoritative teaching, miraculous ministry,
substitutionary atoning death on the cross, bodily resurrection from the dead, ascension to the
right hand of the Father, present ministry as High Priest and Advocate, and His personal, visible,
and glorious return.
Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:18-25; John 1:1-2, 14; Acts 1:9-11; Romans 5:8-9; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4;
Hebrews 4:14-16, 7:25; 1 John 2:1-2; Revelation 19:11-16
THE HOLY SPIRIT
We believe in the Holy Spirit, who is fully God, co-equal with the Father and the Son. He
convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment; regenerates those who repent and
believe in Christ; permanently indwells, seals, and baptizes all believers into the body of Christ
at the moment of salvation; and empowers believers for godly living and effective witness. We
believe in the present-day ministry of the Holy Spirit and in the exercise of all biblical gifts of the
Spirit, exercised according to scriptural guidelines and always accompanied by the fruit of the
Spirit, the supreme evidence of which is love.
John 14:16-17, 26; 16:7-15; Acts 1:8; Romans 8:9-17; 1 Corinthians 3:16, 12:4-13; Galatians
5:22-23; Ephesians 1:13-14, 5:18
THE BIBLE
We believe the Bible, consisting of the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments, is the
verbally inspired Word of God, without error in the original writings, and is the complete and final
revelation of God's will for humanity. The Scriptures are the supreme and final authority in all
matters of faith, doctrine, and Christian conduct.
2 Timothy 3:15-17; 2 Peter 1:19-21; Psalm 119:89, 160; John 17:17
CREATION AND HUMANITY
We believe that God created humanity, male and female, in His own image and likeness,
distinct from all other created beings , to glorify Him and enjoy fellowship with Him forever. This
creation is a fixed matter of human biology, not individual choice. Marriage is instituted by God,
not government, is between one man and one woman, and is the only God ordained context for
sexual desire and expression.
Genesis 1:26-28, 2:18-25; Psalm 8:3-6; Matthew 19:4-6 Romans 1:26-27; 1 Corinthians 6:9-11
THE FALL AND SIN
We believe that humanity, through Adam's disobedience, fell into sin, and that all people are
therefore sinners by nature and by choice, falling short of God's standard and separated from
Him. We believe all are under God's righteous judgment and without excuse before Him, and
that apart from God's grace, all are destined for eternal separation from God.
Genesis 3:1-24; Psalm 51:5; Romans 3:10-12, 23; 5:12-19; 6:23; Ephesians 2:1-3
SALVATION
We believe that salvation, redemption, and forgiveness are the free gift of God's grace, offered
to all people through faith alone in Jesus Christ alone, apart from works. We believe that those
who repent of their sin and receive Jesus Christ as personal Savior and Lord are immediately
born again of the Holy Spirit, justified before God, adopted into His family, and made new
creations with eternal life. Salvation is entirely by grace through faith and is the permanent
possession of all who genuinely believe.
John 1:12-13, 3:3-7, 16-18; Acts 4:12, 16:31; Romans 10:9-10; Ephesians 2:8-10; Titus 3:5-7; 1
Peter 1:3-5, 23; 1 John 5:11-13
THE CHURCH
We believe in the one universal Church, the body of Christ, consisting of all persons who have
been regenerated by the Holy Spirit through faith in Jesus Christ. We believe the Church exists
to worship God, proclaim the Gospel, make disciples of all nations, demonstrate God's love
through compassionate service, and build up believers in the faith until Christ returns.
We believe that each local church is an autonomous expression of the universal Church and
should be characterized by biblical teaching, fellowship, prayer, the breaking of bread, and the
exercise of spiritual gifts in love.
Matthew 16:18, 28:18-20; Acts 2:42-47; Romans 12:4-8; 1 Corinthians 12:12-27; Ephesians
1:22-23, 4:11-16; Hebrews 10:24-25
THE ORDINANCES
We believe the Lord Jesus Christ established two ordinances for the Church: water baptism by
immersion as a public testimony of the believer's identification with Christ in His death, burial,
and resurrection; and the Lord's Supper (Communion) as a remembrance of His sacrificial death
until He returns. While these ordinances are acts of obedience and blessing for believers, they
are not means of salvation.
Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:41, 8:36-38; Romans 6:3-5; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26
THE MINISTRY OF BELIEVERS
We believe that every believer is called to be a faithful steward of all that God has entrusted to
them—including their time, talents, spiritual gifts, influence, financial resources, and energy—for
the glory of God and the advancement of His kingdom. We believe all believers are called to
love God supremely, love their neighbors sacrificially, live holy lives empowered by the Spirit,
share the Gospel boldly, care for the poor and marginalized, pursue justice for the oppressed,
and use their God-given resources to meet the needs of others.
Micah 6:8; Matthew 22:37-40, 25:31-46; Luke 12:48; Acts 1:8; Romans 12:1-2; 1 Corinthians 4:1-2;
2 Corinthians 5:14-15; Ephesians 2:10; 1 Peter 4:10-11
THE GREAT COMMISSION
We believe the Church have been commissioned by the Lord Jesus Christ to make disciples of
all nations, baptizing them and teaching them to observe all that He commanded. This includes
proclaiming the Gospel to every person, in every culture, in every generation, with special
concern for those who are least-reached, last-considered, and lost without Christ. We believe
missions and evangelism are the responsibility of every believer and every local church.
Matthew 28:18-20; Mark 16:15; Luke 24:46-48; John 20:21; Acts 1:8; Romans 10:13-15
SPIRITUAL WARFARE
We believe in the reality of Satan, a fallen angelic being, and his demons, who actively oppose
God, His people, and His purposes. We believe that through the victory of Jesus Christ on the
cross, Satan and his forces have been defeated, and that believers have spiritual authority in
Christ to stand against the powers of darkness through prayer, the Word of God, faith, and the
power of the Holy Spirit.
Isaiah 14:12-15; Matthew 4:1-11; Luke 10:17-19; John 12:31; Ephesians 6:10-18; James 4:7; 1
Peter 5:8-9; 1 John 3:8; Revelation 12:9-11
RESURRECTION AND ETERNAL DESTINY
We believe in the bodily resurrection of both the saved and the lost. We believe in a literal
heaven and a literal hell. Those who have trusted in Jesus Christ will be resurrected to eternal
life in the presence of God in heaven, experiencing everlasting joy and blessing. Those who
have rejected Christ will be resurrected to eternal, conscious separation from God in hell,
experiencing everlasting judgment.
Daniel 12:2; Matthew 25:31-46; John 5:28-29, 14:1-3; 1 Corinthians 15:12-58; 2 Corinthians 5:1-
10; Philippians 1:21-23; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Revelation 20:11-15, 21:1-22:5
THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST
We believe in the personal, visible, and glorious return of the Lord Jesus Christ. We believe His
return is imminent and could occur at any moment. We believe this blessed hope motivates
believers to holy living, faithful service, diligent evangelism, and watchful anticipation. While we
recognize that believers hold differing views on the details and timing of Christ's return and
related prophetic events, we unite around the certain truth that Jesus is coming again.
John 14:1-3; Acts 1:9-11; 1 Corinthians 15:51-52; Philippians 3:20-21; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18;
Titus 2:11-14; Hebrews 9:28; Revelation 1:7, 22:20
UNITY IN ESSENTIALS, LIBERTY IN NON-ESSENTIALS
While this Statement of Faith represents the core theological convictions of Stewards
International, we recognize that the global body of Christ includes faithful believers who hold
different perspectives on secondary doctrinal matters (such as specific views on spiritual gifts,
church government, and end-times chronology). We are committed to the belief that in the
essentials, unity; in non-essentials, liberty, and in all things, charity. We joyfully partner with all
who affirm the essential truths of the Gospel and the authority of Scripture, regardless of
denominational affiliation.
John 17:20-23; Romans 14:1-13; 1 Corinthians 1:10-13; Ephesians 4:1-6, 11-16; Philippians 1:27
APPLICATION TO STEWARDS' MINISTRY
This Statement of Faith guides all aspects of Stewards International's ministry, including:
• Partnership Standards: We partner with missionaries, ministries, and churches that
affirm the essential doctrines expressed in this statement, particularly the Gospel of
salvation by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone.
• Vetting Criteria: Resource Seekers must demonstrate theological alignment with core
biblical truth, though we allow for diversity on secondary matters where Scripturehonoring believers genuinely differ.
• Operational Integrity: We conduct all operations—fundraising, grant-making,
partnership development, and stewardship—in accordance with biblical principles of
integrity, transparency, accountability, and sacrificial service.
• Missional Focus: Our mission to connect the world's needs with the world's resources
flows from our conviction that all believers are called to be faithful stewards and that the
Church is commissioned to care for the poor, serve the marginalized, and proclaim the
Gospel to all nations.
AFFIRMATION
All board members, officers, and employees of Stewards International are required to affirm
agreement with this Statement of Faith. Ministry partners receiving support through Stewards
must demonstrate substantial alignment with these core doctrines, though we recognize the

biblical orthodoxy.
